Mary J. Blige Information

Mary's back.

Billboard has filled her arms with nine awards for “The Breakthrough.” That album is incredible. She's got eight Grammy nods, leading with plenty more than any other artist for 2007.

She's already got three Grammys since her first which she shared with Method Man for “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need to Get By.”

“The Breakthrough” debuted at number one and sold 727,000 copies in its first week. That was the biggest first week of sales for an R&B solo female artist in Sound Scan history. And the fifth largest for a female artist overall.

Mary’s singles from the album, of the three that have been released so far, have climbed the charts as fast as her other efforts. The first single off the album, “Be Without You,” has made it to number one on the R&B and dance charts, and number three overall. The second single released, “Enough Cryin’” is an anthem of women's strength.
